(Top) "All Set" For The World Flyers. Chickasha is "all set" for the biggest "party" in the history of our community. It will be far more than a local Affair. It will be the welcome of the "old home town" and of the state of Oklahoma to our heroes of the air. Chickasha was highly honored when Mr. Hall decided to give our people the first chance to greet Post and Gatty on their return to OKlahoma--thanks chiefly to the clever diplomac of Dr. A.B. Leeds. The Chamber of Commerce aviation committee, in charge of tomorrow’s program, and Mayor Larson have worked hard in their efforts to perfect all the details of the big Doin’s. Perhaps their plans are not air-tight. In an affair of this sort, it will be strange indeed if there are not a few "busts" somewhere along the line. Realize the magnitude of the committee’s task. Make the best of everything. Let all Chickasha co-operate to the utmost in making the day’s Program the huge success we hope it will be. No. 1 Childs Hits Big Sensation of the south field Friday was the completion of the Hall-Briscoe and Jack Saffer No. 1 Childs, on a small lease in SE SE SE 14-11-3w, on the extreme west edge of the field. The well bailed down about 2,000 feet, when gas and oil cleaned the hole. It was averaging from 350 to 400 barrels an hour, with 10,000,000 feet of gas. Total depth is 6,344 feet in sand, this being the fourth sand producer in the field. After 24 hours the well will be shut in for 30 days. This well was started by Hall and Briscoe, independent operators of Chickasha, early in the ear; it drilled to 4919-26 feet and tested salt water then shut down for several months. A deal was made with Jack Shaffer, drilling contractor, to carry the well deeper. More details will be found on page 1 of this edition. |
