C.J. BLINN LAWYER 310 EQUITY BUILDING PHONE 3-7148 OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. Wiley Post, air-hero of the hour, we welcome you home. We are proud of your notable achievement--the first human being to girdle the globe by air--alone. We are happier still in your safe return. Long ago you traced the name of Oklahoma on the sky-line of the world, and became one of the immortals of the air; but now you have become the super-man of the skies. There are Oklahomans who believe that your record will never be equalled. The man who surpasses that record will never excell [crossed out l] you in courage or ability, but will achieve his glory only when swifter plane than the Winnie Mae flash through the skies, but no plane will ever carry a more courageous or daring navigator than our own Wiley Post---solo conqueror of the globe. Welcome home, Wiley Post. The city is yours and waiting for your victory parade. It may not be as wild and tumultuous as the ovation you received in New York, and the tickertape may be absent, but the hearts of all will thrill with joy and pride as you pass by. 1933. |
