Delegations form Wichita, Tulsa and other cities will fly to the municipal air terminal Sunday, May 19 for participation in the "Clyde Nuckols Derby day," according to information received Saturday. While delegations from smaller cities will not be as large, nearly all in this territory are due to enter ships in the races and stunts for which prizes valued at more than $300 have been posted. The gala day will bring a number of participants to the crowded activity in new form. Well known in business circles, James Brazell, the dean in point of years at the air terminal, will come to the fore as an exhibition flier. It also will be the first exhibition by F. C. Hall of the ship he is grooming for speed dashes. The Nuckols day will introduce with spectacular flying Carl Winstead, a veteran who came here to fly the weather bureau ship. In addition to the civilian flying, at least to flights of army plans are expected in the city for the day. |
